Pictures of Pearl is a book of pictures of how a woman looks who is consistently berated, harassed, etc. by the common stranger to her.
They say there was a disruption. People hired to run off competitive businesses etc. They would never make their selves known so no one ever really knew who they are. You would just get pummeled from out of nowhere. You would never see your assailant. You would only feel and see the effects. This is a book of pictures I would take of myself when I was safely in my dad's house after grocery shopping or running errands in town. I would always feel a blow and I always wanted to know what I looked like after a blow. This book is a picture book of what I looked like. Your face usually goes back to normal after a few days.
