“Cocoa, isn’t it interesting that we’re twin ponies, but some things are the same while others are different? For example, we both have wide blazes on our heads and big round hooves, but your coat is chocolate brown and mine is cream-colored. Not to mention, our manes go in all different directions… but we’re proud of our unmanageable hair,” said Cream to her sister.
“Yes, that’s true,” Cocoa replied. “And our owner, Mr. Banks, said that because of our big hooves we won’t have trouble with our feet all of our lives. We’ll never need special shoes to fix foot troubles. Hooray for us!”

This is truly a lovely book for children who love animals. It’s one they will read many times because of both the story and the information it contains.
Finally, a tip-of-the-hat to the illustrator, Mirjana Bubevska, for some of the most charming illustrations I’ve seen anywhere.

"The story is about how these twin ponies, Cream and Coca, come to live with two sisters and their parents who run a riding school to help children with problems or disabilities to overcome them and gain confidence in themselves.
The author’s experience and knowledge of horses and ponies is evident in the way she tells the tale of these animals and how they are groomed and fed.
