My daughter was in 4th standard when we jointly went to see Book fair at Sunderabhai Hall. She
was wonder stuck to see an ocean of Books. "So many books!" was her comment. We left her at
children's section and went to see other topics. She kept seeing and reading and visiting other
sections too. After three to four hours of search we headed towards cash counter and saw she is
already there with her own picks. After about 6 or seven months her teacher asked every
student to write an essay on a topic. Teacher was surprised to see a full paragraph quote in my
daughter's essay. When asked she said it's taken from a book she saw in the exhibition. When
she brought the essay home we too were surprised and asked her from which book she took
this. She said she read it in the exhibition and told me book title. I was sorry that I did not pick
that book. I waited for next book fair to buy it. What your child sees or reads can make
permanent impression in mind and can recollect when occasion comes. Never take your child
lightly. There could be a writer, scientist, artist, poet, singer, engineer, doctor hiding in your
child. Identify what talent nature has given to your child by carefully looking into child's taste,
inclination and behavior patterns. Go with the career option given to child by nature. Don't
impose your ego or prestige. Right parenting does not mean imposing huge disciplines and
rules, but creating right environment around your child. Allow wisdom to rule your home and
you be part of that wisdom and project yourself as good role model.
