‘Mastering P&ID and Other Schematics’
Examining, Interpreting, Drafting P&IDs and other Schematics, Practical Approach For Complete Beginners – Self learning
Mastering P&ID and other schematics is a beginner self-learning guide on how to examine, interpret, and draft P&IDs and other schematics. It is designed to help you grasp process instrumentation control symbols and schematics development: just how you want it, any time, any day, and anywhere. A web-downloadable summary lecture video for every chapter is also available, offering more clarification.
The book is written with the assumption that the readers have absolutely no practical knowledge of P&ID. Well, if you are already familiar with P&ID, we would greatly appreciate your contribution. Throughout the learning, you will study the fundamentals of P&ID and other diagrams. Of course, you will also begin creating your own P&ID.
The book is simplified for persons across various institutes and industries where P&ID, instruments and controls symbols, and other schematics are relevant. More information for further practice is available as practical examples and case studies using real-life or dummy projects. Exercises are provided to test participants understanding of the course contents.
Participants will be able to easily examine, interpret, and generate utility diagrams (UFDs), process flow diagrams (PFD), block flow diagrams (BFD), and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID) using standard symbols and notations as needed after successfully completing these self-learnings.
Participants will be able to identify components of P&ID and distinguish between a BFD, PFD, UFD, and P&ID as compared to other engineering schematics, master and learn the techniques to read and interpret industrial schematics, understand the standards and codes used in P&ID design, and appreciate the importance of schematics in engineering design and process plant commissioning. Know how to unravel engineering problems using schematic diagrams.
After completing the self-learning contents, participants would have acquired a good understanding of what P&ID is and feel very proud for getting the fundamental tools and skills and working knowledge of P&IDs. There is still more to learn about P&IDs, but the skills acquired here should keep participants in good stead.
We hope you will enjoy this book as you study through chapters one to thirteen!
