| | | Melina Within the pages of this book lies a world that we as humans once knew. It was a world of peace and harmony, a world that could never be destroyed. Yet when man first came to this world with his greed, all that stood around him began to wither away. There was a single forest however that remained untouched, a dryad by the name of Melina living deep within it. Around her the forest thrived and continued to grow, concealing the world that she knew all too well away from what rested outside of it.
But now humans have found their way into her forest and have gone against the one law that it has. The appearance of such creatures in her forest creates a conflict of which she had never thought possible, she having fallen in love with a human many years before who also followed the law of her forest. Yet those around her have come to not trust him, blaming the human druid for the appearance of those who have now invaded her home as well as that of their own.
Now Melina is faced with a single decision, one that is bound to break her heart and force it to go in two different directions. Will she remain within her forest and abandon the love that she once knew, or leave her home for the love that she now wishes to keep? Now she is uncertain as to what she can do, and yet as more time passes a new danger is brought to her forest; a poison of which she cannot push away. Will Melina be able to save her friends as well as the forest that she has grown to love? Will she be forced away from her home and if so, would she ever leave? So many things are about to happen, and this is only the beginning.
| | | | The Unicorn There once was a land that was held away from humans that had been consumed by their greed and selfishness. It was a place hidden from the rest of the world that not even the best geologists have been able to uncover. It is a land of both the wil and strength and yet, when Kali, one of the boys uses his strength and courage against the rest of his village, he is exiled for all eternity. It had become so for him due to the unicorn, the one who he had grown to admire and also to love. Fear within the village drove those who Kali knew into seeking out the one-horned mare, but recalling the lessons he had been taught so many times before, he refused to capture and slaughter the innocent beast. And because of his love for the unicorn mare, he is pushed away from the home that he has come to know all too well. Yet, what should happen to a unicorn if she were ever to fall in love with a human? It would be impossible due to the fact that humans are what had sent her into such a small space, also being those who destroy her, won't they?
Bending her front legs,
The unicorn dips the end of her horn into the pool of water,
Golden ripples growing away from it,
Purifying the water of poison.
Many say that one good turn deserves another,
But this cannot be said for the unicorn,
For as the ripples move away from her,
The bounce off of the banks surrounding the pool.
Ripples clash against one another,
Hiding her good deed from all who were not watching,
Leaving her with little hope as the sound of footsteps approach her.
A group of humans see her beside the silvery pool of water,
