|  | | I Fought a War That Wasn't Mine I graduated from Hopewell High in 1985, enlisted in the Army Reserves a month after graduation, served 7 years. I was pregnant with my son when my troop was sent to desert storm. I am the proud mother of 3 lovely children.
Joseph Smith a seventeen year old- African American- young man-njust graduating high school- got a job at the mill. Stilll living at home with his mother, father, and three siblings, he feels the it's time for him to start thinging of moving out- on his own; his older brother made different plans for him.
"I couldn't believe my own brother would decieve me so easily; for fear of his own destiny."
Finding himself in the Viet Nam War- fighting to stay alive; pushing emotional feelings deep inside, living in the marsh of death and fear, having to step-up and be | |  | | I Fought a War That Wasn't Mine 2- Whom Shall I Fear I am the third child of seven- I learned to look at all sides of a situation, be it good or bad. I try to keep peace in our family structure, although one may go through several obstacles- just knowing there is someone there always helps.
Joe Smith has painfully survived his years into manhood- but is now heading down the wrong path of life. An unexpected tragedy shakes Joe to the core of his soul- causing him to change his lifestyle for the better. As Joe changes- so does his life. He meets a special lady and learns to open up, share his feelings and finally live again.
Joe finds old letters from his mother; they guide him and assure him that all will work out fine as he finds himself lost and in pain, yet again.

Having a great English teacher helped me find my ability to write. I enjoy where it can take a persons' mind. Hope you enjoy it too.
