An eclectic and funny collection of explanations of, apologies for and wonderings why we are what we are - or were - or might be. OK, forget the apologies. The author here appears as baffled as anyone why mascots in bird suits strike terror in children, why college students would volunteer to drink alcohol to make their fellow classmates better looking, and how some people just can't follow the rules. The Durex Sex Survey (no, they've never called me either) has reported that unmarried couples living together are the most sexually active, having sex 190 times a year. I have been out of circulation for quite some time now so I am not all that familiar with the customs of cohabiting singles. And the several couples I do know in that focus group seem too busy stretching their combined incomes to cover heat, food and prescription drugs to be very concerned with that statistic.
