Going Fishing is a collection of short stories I have written over far too many years. They deal with eccentric characters, life and relationships.
There were little pieces of hard white candy stuck to the front of his…shirt…the kind mama used to make. She used pure, fresh ingredients, not like…
“Stop that, Daddy, I'm trying to button your shirt!”
Mama had one blue eye and one that was gray. He could not remember which was which now, or why she did not call him anymore or at least write. She never answered his letters not a one. “Mama?”
“Grandma died a long time ago, Daddy, don't you remember?”
He rubbed the callused palm of his right hand over his face. Whiskers! Had he not just shaved? How could hair grow so fast? “C | |  | | Miyoko's Will
Miokoy's Will is the story of a family torn apart by World War II but reunited by a terminal illness. Miyoko's Will transports Tyler to Hiroshima where he learns about his Japanese heritage, discovers himself, and falls in love.
On January 6,1945, Miyoko and her mother Setsuko are on a train pulling
into Hiroshima station. Little Boy ignites, destroying 90% of the city and
immediately killing 80,000 people. Miyoko and Setsuko survive with minor
physical injuries. Setsuko's subsequent overprotectniveness drives Miyoko
to flee to San Francisco where she enrolls in college. She meets Lincoln.
They marry and have a son, Tyler. Due to Miyoko's health issues,
