On a solitary quest for higher understanding of himself and of humanity, John walks the countryside, carrying his bag filled with books, until he is assaulted by small town police and forcibly committed to a mental hospital. Through the course of John’s psychiatric evaluation, he walks us along the fine line between genius and insanity that he has long been walking alone. John’s psychiatrist, Dr. Bill Johansen, and Bruce Rand, a retired ‘old school cop’, both come to his aid and, as they cope with their own loss, tragedy, and personal growth and grow to understand him and his philosophy, they find that he has come to their aid as well.

I can't very well presume to speak for any other writers here....but me, personally,... I gotta admit to being rather stymied by that question...and it just happens to be the question upon which I can positively count whenever the topic of my work comes up in conversation.
With that in mind...I suppose that I really should try to answer that very question, stymied by it or no.

Spanning from 1985-2018, this book traces the significant moments of development for its narrator. In a first person narrative voice, this book shifts with intensity from stream-of-consciousness to flashback to peaceful reflection, living powerfully from the inside of an isolated realm of genius...bringing the reader along for the ride and showing them the view from in there.
