All by Myself Poetry is where it all began. The journey is just beginning.
All By Myself Poetry is a four decade struggle of trials, trubulations and where it all began for me as a poet. Back in the sixties Black artists had no area of expression except for Jet Magazine. Racism was alive and well. Black people were not allowed to participate in the American dream simply because of their skin color. It was in this setting that I first began to pen my thoughts, trying to make sense out of something that made no sense. Yet, in spite of all the crueal things my country has done to me. From New Orleans to Watts is a book of poetry set in South Central Los Angeles (AKA) WATTS!

Born in 1940 in New Orleans Louisana's seventh ward, I was forced to live the first fourteen years of my life under the shameful banner of sanctioned segregation and all it's negative repercussions. In 1953 I relocated to Watts California where integration was destroying a viable Black community. Civil Rights was in vogue on the west coast which gave me the platform that allowed me an area of expression. 'From New Orleans to Watts' poetry book chronicles the cause and effect legal segregation had on me and my transition from being a second class citizen into an activist poet. The Turbulent 60's Poetry takes us back to a time when Freedom wasn't free. Racism was alive and well. The Civil Rightsj movement was making progress. But not fast enough!
The Turbulent 60's Poetry is the third and most controversial of all my poetry books. It's about the on-going struggle of the sixties. Seventeen sixty, Eighteen sixty, then the turbulent 60's. I had become of age and was bitter about what my country had done to me. Yet, in spite of all the injustices done to me I have not and never will advocate any subversive activity against my country the United States America.
