America's first warning of global warming came on August 29th, 2005 when hurricane Katrina entered the Gulf of Mexico and transformed into a monster storm. Four coastal States, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana , were devastated by deadly winds and slashing rain. In New Orleans, the catastrophic storm was followed by a powerful storm surge that burst three key points in the city's levee system and inundated the old French City in fifteen feet of water, and drown nearly 1500 people.
