An update on some new medications which may eventually help those with Alzheimers

Researchers are now attacking Alzheimers in a different way.

Exbryl-1 seems to dissolve the amyloid deposits and trouble spots in the brain, as well as the tau protien tangles which damage and kill nerve cells.

Dimebon - works in boosting brain cell energy and improves symptoms

Rember- in a recent study, this drug attacked the protein tangles and slowed the progress of Alzheimers.

STUDIES ARE STILL UNDERWAY ABOUT THESE THREE PROMISING NEW DRUGS.

They are not on the market yet, but could be available in five to ten years.
I'm not sure why it will take so long. It will be too late for many of us already afflicted.

A new drug called AV 45 will be available in two to three years . Its radioactive and can be used during PET Scans to see if amyloid protein deposits in are being formed in the brain. It will aid in a quicker diagnosis. The sooner a definate diagnosis is made, the quicker the Doctors can start treating the disease to minimize its effects.
To find study results, go to:
AV-45(at)clinicialtrials.gov

Early stage Alzheimers patients who are physically fit have four times less brain shrinkage(cell death)than those who are out of shape. The benifits of increased blood flow, may prevent the brain cells from dying so quickly.
First time exercises should begin exercise with a 15 to 30 minute walk
three times a week.

A lack of Vitamin B12, or low folate levels can also cause memory loss.

Autopsies are finding lots of nitrates and aluminum in peoples bodies.

EVERY 70 SECONDS SOMEONE IS DIAGOISED WITH ALZHEIMERS!

Over 5 miiion in the U.S. have Alzheimers.
By 2050, one out of two people will have it unless a cure is found. Those who have realitives who have had this are at a greater risk, but no one is immune to its ravages of the mind.

I am the 4th person in my family to develop Alzheimers. My son Samuel , now age 50 is the 5th. My husband who is not Sams biological father ALSO has Alzheimers, plus some type of dementia.

Please support Alzheimers in any way you can . Thanks and God Bless You!...MaryGrace
