Author Jay Dubya examines the frailties of CRT (Critical Race Theory) along with the 1619 Project in American Public School Education.
The controversial “Critical Race Theory” (CRT) has many separate conflict-oriented components that are currently being taught in American Public Schools, one of which is “The 1619 Project”. 1619 was the year that the first black slaves from Africa were brought to North Carolina to labor on white-owned Southern Plantations. Regrettably, the proponents of both the Critical Race Theory and the 1619 Project have a rather myopic and distorted comprehension of World History and a limited perception of American History.
The 1619 Project is furtively designed to replace (CANCEL-CULTURE) the concept of 1620 being taught in public schools. 1620 was the year that the Pilgrims, fleeing the tyranny and (Anglican) religious persecution of King Henry VIII of England, landed at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts. Of course, part of the 1619 Project narrative is that the Pilgrims were “White”, were “Christian”, and were of "European descent"; these aforementioned three factors all being constantly-attacked ingredients manifested in the “Critical Race Theory”, the national “educational campaign” attempting to portray the ideas of “White Privilege” and “White Supremacy” prevalently existing throughout today’s America along with being practiced in its many institutions. By replacing the 1620 Massachusetts Pilgrims with the 1619 North Carolina Slaves as being America's true Founding, the Cancel Culture REVISIONISTS will then try to eliminate Thanksgiving as a national holiday, once the Pilgrims have been diminished in historical importance.
If you think that Anti-American, Anti-Christian CANCEL-CULTURE’s attempt to radically extinguish Thanksgiving and call it “Turkey Day” is a wild Conspiracy Theory, then consider these recent past adjustments to school-year calendars. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’s birthdays are no longer separate, revered traditions in February because of the creation of Presidents Day honoring ALL past Chief-Executives being celebrated, and besides those relevant facts, February is now being exclusively identified as Black History Month. And also, Easter, Columbus Day and the Christmas Holidays have been effectively changed into Spring Break, into Fall Break and into Winter Break, respectively. And yes, finally, the CANCEL-CULTURE AMERICAN SOCIALISTS have caused St. Patrick’s Day, St. Valentine’s Day and Halloween (Holy Eve before All Saints Day, but now secularly called Orange and Black Day) to become drastically modified (or eliminated) in many public school systems because of their Christian religious connotations.
The deliberate exploitation of blacks by “White Privilege” in the United States (with American institutions being plagued with “White Supremacy”) is an absolute bogus myth. There are over 1.5 million black millionaires in the USA. If America was truly a racist country, then how could Barack Obama ever have become U.S. President, and Eric Holder ever have become Attorney General?
Quite apparently, there exists plenty of opportunity for success in America for self-motivated blacks. Fifty-six Afro-Americans presently sit in the Black Congressional Caucus, and also, two blacks now occupy crucial seats on the United States Supreme Court.
And it is a fact that both blacks and whites are living much better, and are more prosperous today, than they had lived just 800 years ago. The U.S. leads all other countries in the world in offering self-motivated blacks: academic education, vocational training, employment, opportunity for self-improvement and INDIVIDUAL success, along with a decent chance for upward-mobility in a dynamic, free enterprise economy.
CANCEL-CULTURE BLM History is being emphasized in schools over what was formerly known as chronological American History. The majority of white people are good folks who want to see peace and prosperity being abundant in the U.S.A. “Critical Race Theory” and the “1619 Project” are designed to diminish the contributions of European-descendent citizens in History, which in the process, is making White Students in classrooms the “Oppressors” feeling guilty, and Black Students the “Oppressed Victims” of Systemic Racism being exploited in all American Judicial and Economic Institutions. This type of divisive indoctrination has to cease, and must be stopped.
As long as a black student perceives himself or herself as being an “Oppressed VICTIM”, the affected kids will grow-up into becoming dependent on the State and not being Independent, self-confident, self-sufficient, successful adults. In short, neither the world nor the U.S. Government owes anybody a living. There exists adequate opportunity out there in the USA for any self-motivated person to rise above mediocrity in the marvelous “free enterprise economy” that a free America provides.
The Critical Race Theory along with the 1619 Project will only cause distrust, resentment and racial animosity among white and black public-school students. So, this is how a typical 1619 Project classroom lesson might be taught. White students will role-play and pretend that it’s the year 1619 in North Carolina and conduct a Slave Auction with several standing grade-level black students being bid upon in front of the classroom. The remaining black students seated in the classroom will not be able to participate in the wheeling-and-dealing demonstration, since only white students will be able to bid on the imaginary black "slave" students being auctioned off, thus causing more conflictive classroom emotions to marinate. Such a counterproductive Slave Auction “educational activity” will create and engender hostile feelings between white and black students, and the negative exercise will in no way promote HARMONY and EQUALITY, which would be the stated goals and objectives on the teacher’s lesson plan.
The 1619 Project originators want to negatively state that the landing of African Slaves in North Carolina in the year 1619 was the true FOUNDING of the United States of America. The Critical Race Theory zealots (along with the accompanying 1619 Project fanatics) ignore and despise the bountiful “GOOD” in America and proceed to exaggerate and emphasize both the “BAD” and the “UGLY”. The 21st Century Socialist/proponents of CRT and the 1619 Project hate Christopher Columbus, hate the Pilgrims, hate George Washington, hate Thomas Jefferson, hate Benjamin Franklin, and absolutely loathe any other "EVIL" FOUNDER that had any remote connection with 18th Century slave-owning. These contemporary iconoclasts passionately desire to destroy any statue, any memorial, or any positive memory of any well-intentioned American Founder. These radical modern-day REVISIONISTS are attempting to CANCEL-OUT American History and Culture and awkwardly rewrite it in terms of their own militant Socialist philosophy starting in the year 2021.
The on-a-mission CRT and 1619 REVISIONISTS don’t quite understand certain simple and fundamental truths about our inimitable country. In the U.S. Constitution, it specifically states: “In order to form a more perfect Union!” The USA experiment at society-improvement is an ongoing process and can NEVER be fully accomplished on a nationwide scale. An American SOCIAL UTOPIA (or any UTOPIA elsewhere) will never exist, as obviously evidenced and proven with the recent failures of the Soviet Union, of Cuba, of North Korea and of Venezuela, Marxist nations that have/had nothing better to offer their populations except misery and despair. America is (and has been since 1787) all about the dignity of the INDIVIDUAL (“Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness”) and not about the general welfare of the GROUP. In the United States of America, only a determined, self-reliant INDIVIDUAL can ever achieve UTOPIA in his or her own life by the application of INDIVIDUAL initiative and hard work towards attaining THAT personal UTOPIAN goal.
Now let’s time-travel back in History BEFORE 1619. Eight hundred years ago, only Kings, Queens, Princes, Princesses, Dukes, Duchesses, Counts, Barons, Bishops and Knights had RIGHTS and PRIVILEGES.
Eight hundred years ago, 98% of all our ancestors (white or black) were Slaves (Slavs), Peasants, Serfs, Vassals, Chattel, Sharecroppers or Servants. In other words, the majority of people in England (and throughout Europe) were the PROPERTY of the nobility, who offered peasants and serfs castle PROTECTION from thieves and lurking criminals in exchange for loyalty and servitude.
In 1215 AD, King Richard III (the Lion-heart) of England was away in the Middle East fighting the Crusades against Islam over the occupation of Jerusalem, so Richard’s weak brother King John was the kingdom’s ruler. That year, in Runnymede, England, the Magna Carta (Great Charter) was signed. This extremely important document, a forerunner to the United States Constitution and corresponding Declaration of Independence, was agreed to by feckless King John, and the revolutionary covenant guaranteed “property rights” and additional privileges to defiant Barons who were rebelling against the throne. But it is worthy to note that the Magna Carta had vital ramifications that gradually trickled-down to the Common Man.
Eventually over time, these new “rights and privileges” led to the establishment of the British Parliament, consisting of the House of Commons (Representing Regular Commoners) and the House of Lords (Representing Wealthier Landowners). Our U.S. Senate and our House of Representatives are modeled after the British Parliament’s two governing houses.
The important detail to remember here is that the “common people” have been, over the centuries, gaining more power from royal, omnipotent Kings, Queens and aristocrats. The essential idea to value here is that with the signing of the Magna Carta, the “Common Man” was no longer the PROPERTY of British royalty and of the noble class.
In 1776 in Philadelphia, American colonial patriots signed the Declaration of Independence, which quickly ignited the American Revolutionary War that soon had been waged against the colonial tyranny (a result of the nearly 600-year exploitation of the Common Man) being implemented by King George III of England. After the War of Independence, next in 1787-1789, the United States Constitution was wonderfully drafted into law.
The 1st Ten Amendments to the U.S. Constitution granted DEMOCRATIC “civil rights” to every American colonist (male citizen). The then-unique UNITED STATES REPUBLIC was finally officially established!
Later in the mid-19th Century, the Civil War was fought between the American North (Union) and the American South (Confederates) from 1861-1865. In 1863, a REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT named Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, thus freeing the Black Slaves throughout the South from their mostly Democrat plantation masters.
But it should be fully understood that imperial tyranny against the “Common Man” had persisted from the Magna Carta year 1215 right up to 1776 A.D. It should also be fully understood by ALL AMERICANS that the White Man had to first liberate himself from England’s despotic King George III in 1776 before the WHITE MAN could ever begin liberating the BLACK MAN from Plantation Slavery in 1863.
The Black Man obtained the Right to Vote with the passing of the 15th Amendment on February 3, 1870. Fifty years later, women in the United States gained the Right to Vote with the passing of the 19th Amendment on August 18, 1920. So, if anyone should be angry about "Voting Privilege", it should not be today's Black Men, whose patriarchal ancestors had obtained U.S. Voting Rights a full half-century before either white or black women were ever conferred with that sacred franchise.
