This thrills me because I’ve been following Gosling’s and Blunt’s careers ever since I saw The Notebook and The Devil Wears Prada. Each of these offerings resulted in serious attention for Gosling and Blunt.

According to IMDb Gosling now has 48 acting credits and Blunt has 54 of the same. Plus, both of them earned Oscar nominations. Gosling has three and Blunt one. Finally putting them together in THE FALL GUY should be a treat for their fans.

They have to find the movie’s star.

No matter if he’s near or far.

In drama, comedy they shine.

They both are favorites of mine.

THE FALL GUY gives us lots of fun

as we watch action by the ton!

Let’s talk about that action. I agree with San Diego film critic Yazdi K. Pithavala who says, “The part with the garbage truck on the Sydney streets is an action scene for the ages.”

Fortunately, many of the stunts in this film could be called art. But everything goes by so fast, you might miss a few things. I confess watching THE FALL GUY three times so far. That’s my only complaint about this exciting movie. From the first surprise stunt to the end something important is going on. So keep your eyes open – even during Blunt’s long karaoke scene.   

The clever tagline for this film is “He’s only the stunt man but he’s stealing the show.”

That gives us a lot about the plot, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Bullet Train), as movie star Tom Ryder, can hardly cover his jealousy of Colt Seavers, his stunt double portrayed by Gosling. Hannah Waddington (Ted Lasso) also does her best as Gail Myers, the film’s pushy producer. And, of course, Blunt gives her all as Jody Moreno, the worried director of “a cosmic sci-fi romance” film who wants everything to turn out right -- but who counts on Colt to help that happen.

In spite of its ultra-speedy pace, THE FALL GUY turns out to be one of the best movies so far this year.
