Where will it end?
ICE continues its illegal actions against anyone Trump deems undesirable. Our national parks and forests are endangered. Government benefits to impoverished Americans have been cut so deeply that families and children are anxious about food to eat and getting the medical care they need. The same goes for those on social security, SSI, and disability. The economy is in shambles. And now Trump has ordered that Washington DC be under what amounts to martial law.
When are we going to wake up, face up, and take up, legally, what must be done to stop this madness? We (myself and other like minded, sane people excepted) voted this monster in and only we can force him out of office. Oh, it goes without saying that it would be a dangerous mission. With his minions, including militias, white supremacists, and other militants, willing to take up arms on his say so, how can it not be? But the French did it with Hitler after he invaded France, and even some closest to him tried to stop him. In the end there was a price to be paid. Are we willing to pay it in the name of democracy? In defense of what our founders endangered themselves to create?
I've written before about which part of their oath the military will honor, the oath to defend the constitution or to obey the president. This president is a danger to our constitution. He is systematically overruling the very document that makes us American. Why are they obeying him when it's the very Constitution they swore to defend he is attacking? By doing so they are not only enabling him, they are spitting in the eyes of the very ones who served and sacrificed. And urinating on the graves of those who died.
People, if you believe in what America once stood for, it's time to rise up and, again legally, fight back. There's still time to stop this madness. But it may be running out fast.
