Here is my comment to that...
Hello D.M.,
Thank you for that important article. Sadly, the government is so big that they have forgotten what it is to be personable and the school systems have gone along with that same feeling.
When you do away with cursive writing, you are forgetting about what it means to actually take the time to sit down, think about someone and actually decide to write a letter to that special person.
But that goes hand in hand with current practices...texting someone rather than taking 2 minutes out of your oh so busy schedule to call a loved one on the phone. God forbid you should pay someone a real visit, now that is just so time-consuming, isn't it.
So why don't we all become so wrapped up in ourselves that we forget about others and just concentrate on us. Remember the "Me" generation? Well, here it is. Welcome to our world.

PS Wouldn't it be great if we could find a way to get the Government to restore the cursive writing requirement? Things that are abolished are not always best practice. Even the US Government can make a mistake. That has happened more than once. Click here to post or read comments.
