Paranormal Fantasy/Fairy Tale: An Intricate Web of Magic

My 5-Star review in entirety published at Amazon for this short by JB Richards:

Having read, ‘The Curse of the Dragon Stone,’ Book 1 in ‘The Dragon’s Heir Trilogy,’ I was eager to revisit the Land of Greynor to resume my reading relationship with well-defined characters:

Prince Kirin; Tyriel, the Nephilim; the Fabiosa sisters. Now that I’ve become acquainted with Grigorus, I look forward to finding out his fate in Book 3. I hope he can get out from under his mother’s thumb!

The author’s deliberate, archaic narration and vivid imagery transport the reader to imaginary realms and kingdoms:

Dragons and dire wolves encroach on their human hosts, posing a threat to free will. Vengeful curses wreak havoc, creating inner turmoil and outward devastation.

The author also weaves her intricate web of magic with humor and witty dialogue via Enree, Pemla, Aalyi, and Yral—four of the Fabiosa sisters. Ejaenin and Aev, not so much, due to the curse placed upon them.

As for whom is in possession of the dragon stone at this juncture in the trilogy—absolute power corrupts absolutely!

I highly recommend Book 2 for its emotional upheavals, dilemmas, internal conflicts, and uncertainties of fate.
