Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost; Matthew 28:19. KJV.
There was a knock on the door, I did not answer, but the man and the woman proceeded to walk around the house and called out my name. This duo was persistent, I did the unthinkable; I crouched down to hide at the front door so they would not see me. Then, as I looked at the hinges of the door, they were unhinged: I awakened and found this was all a dream. Abba, Father interrupted my troubled thoughts when He spoke these words to me, Margaret, didnt I command you to go! The Gospel according to Matthew chapter 28:16-20 became very relevant to me where Jesus sent His disciples to baptize and teach all nations. Lets read it together beginning at verse (16) Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. (17) And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. (18) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. (19) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (20) Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. God had given Jesus authority over heaven and earth; it is on this authority that He commanded His disciples to go and make more disciples as they preached the word, baptized and taught with the same authority. This truth convicted my heart and I realized, Go! is not an option instead, a command to be adhered to. The Gospel of Mark chapter 16 spoke so vividly to me from verse (15) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (16) He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues. (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. KJV.
Wherever you are on your journey, perhaps you too have experienced, hiding or running away from the Great Commission to, go! Do you feel like you do not have the skill? Are you bombarded with the guilt of your past? Have you forgiven yourself? Do you know, you have already been forgiven? Or Could it be that to please people is far more important? For me, the moment I awakened from the dream I knew that Abba, Father was demonstrating how I had been hiding and running from His call to go! I was in rebellion by remaining in my house. God had taken the blinders off and cleared the way to go and do the work He had commissioned me to do, but I continued to hide and was afraid in my own home. Question, What about you? Pause and calmly think about this, do not delay another day. On the authority of Jesus Christ, Go! With the comforting assurance that the Greater One, Jesus Christ is with you always. You have been Commissioned by Yahweh, the God who has redeemed you and calls you His own, to Go!
