Do not complain during your time of affliction: God will answer you!
Do Not Complain: Continue to be Faithful during your Affliction Yahweh will Answer You
My soul is weary of my life I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me. Job Chapter 10:1-2. KJV.
The book of Job opens with the story of a holy and upright man, in fact Job was one of the wealthiest man in all the land and highly respected for his devotion to God. He was blessed with seven handsome sons and three beautiful daughters but in one day Job lost everything including his ten children. Then if that was not enough, Job lost his health, this grieved his wife so much to see him in such a condition. She told Job to curse God and die. His three friends, when they lifted up their eyes and saw Job, they wept sorely because they could not recognize him. Still they accused Job of sinning to cause his sore affliction that had come upon him. During all of this Job never sinned nor charged God foolishly. However, in Job chapter ten verses one and two we see Job taking liberty to make his complaint to God about his afflictions and how he longed for a little ease before his death. Read exactly what Job said, verse (1) “My soul is weary of my life I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.” Verse (2) “I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.” This entire chapter contains Job’s complaint to God about his affliction, please read it during your time of leisure. It is absolutely heart rendering the way Job’s friends badgered him without waiting to hear God answer him in chapters eleven to thirty-seven but God intervened on Job’s behalf in chapter thirty-eight verse (1) “ Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,” Verse(2) “ Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?” Verse (3) “Gird up now thy loins like a man: for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.” Verse (4) “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.” God continued to answer Job with questions and in chapter forty of Job verse (1) “Moreover the LORD answered Job and said,” Verse (2) “Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? He that reproveth God, let him answer it.” Verse (3) “Then Job answered the LORD, and said,” Verse (4) “Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.” Job proceeded no further of his questioning of God but God continued to question Job until Job conceded in chapter forty-two let’s read it together from verse ( 5) “ I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Verse (6) “Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.”
Wherever you are on your journey, you may feel like Job and your soul could be weary of life as you know it. Perhaps you too have spoken to the LORD out of the bitterness of your soul and have asked the LORD not to condemn you but to give you some ease from your affliction? I only stopped by to tell you, do not complain: Continue to be faithful during your affliction Yahweh will answer you. Yes, God not only answered Job in chapter forty-two but He also turned Job’s captivity when he prayed for his friends who accused him wrongfully. During your time of affliction it is a dangerous thing to become bitter against those who may abandon, scorn, accuse and despise you. It is a must that you forgive, release and pray for them. Your healing and deliverance is hinged on it. You are not alone, I too was afflicted and one day as I looked at myself, I cried out to God: Are you going to let me die like this? God did not answer and I did not think I would have lived to see the age of twenty- four years but Yahweh did answer, He has allowed me to see fifty plus years! It is my prayer that God will Bless your latter years more than your beginning as He did for Job. I reiterate it, Do Not Complain: Continue to be Faithful during your Affliction Yahweh will Answer You!
