I was born and brought up in London, England and have lived and traveled in many exciting places in the world. I now reside in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada where I and my husband enjoy the great outdoors, many friends and three children (not necessarily in that order.)
It could be that a family tradition that Charles Dickens was a many-times-great-grandfather always spurred my interest in both reading and writing. Whatever the reason, I turned from studying and teaching French language and literature to my own writing and have a whole host of characters and stories in my head, just waiting to be born.
My husband and I came to the edge of the North American continent and left last September for a six month stay in rural Kenya. This was truly a life-changing experience and will hopefully be the inspiration for a book. If you would like to see pictures and a travelogue of our experiences administering a charity, check out www.patriciacrossley.com/vignettes.htm

I love writing stories with a twist. Always with a strong romance,my books have elements of mystery, time travel and the paranormal. My latest release is Dancing with the Devil, a romantic suspense from Atlantic Bridge (www.atlanticbridge.net) In Beloved Stranger, an Encore book from NovelBooksInc (www.novelbooksinc.com),ghostly voices from the past help a modern hero and heroine solve an ancient murder and heal their own wounds.
"A Suitable Father" has been called a tale of betrayal, deceit and the triumph of love. It has just been contracted for a large print edition and has been translated into German.
"Journey's End" whisks the reader from the present, to the past, to the future as a doctor from modern England finds love and happiness with a maverick time traveler. Romantic Times gave this story four stars.
You can read the first chapters of each of these books as well as reviews at my home page www.patriciacrossley.com
My short story "Saturday Night" appeared first in print in a national magazine, then in a romance anthology from Wordbeams and will be a QuickPick from DiskUs in August 2003.(www.diskus.com) A well traveled little story.
Another short story, again set in Victoria BC, was a prize winner in a print contest for a national print magazine. It is now available from Trebleheart books. (www.trebleheartbooks.com
