Most of what I have written has been fantasy. The first fantasy I remember reading, probably what really pushed me into the genre, were the The Chronicles of Prydain series by Lloyd Alexander. Later on, in junior high, I discovered "Star Trek". Already a fan of "Doctor Who" and Star Wars, "Star Trek" did a lot to push me into science and science fiction. But, my true love still remains fantasy. Though I must quote Michael Crichton as one of my favorite authors, I’m also a huge fan of Terry Brooks and Jim Butcher.

Accomplishments

|
I graduated from the Institute of Children’s Literature in 1998. I currently have nearly 20 short stories published in various magazines both on-and-off-line. In 2006 my first novel, “Winter’s Rite” was self-published. Book 2 of that series, “Well Wishes”, was self-published in October of 2006. In July of 2007 my third novel, “Gauntlet”, Book 1 of an action/adventure series, was self-published. My fourth novel, “Predators or Prey?”, was picked up by Dark Castle Lords Publications as Book 1 of a series in 2008. “Predators or Prey?” is currently on its way to becoming a film, based on a script I wrote, produced by Karita Fleming. In 2009, “Necromancer”, the second Wendy Markland novel, was released by DCL Publications. I designed my own book covers for my three self-published novels and did a stint as cover artist for the magazines “Twisted Dreams” and “Worlds Within - Worlds Beyond”. I have also written two scripts for James Tucker Productions, which I was hired to pen.
