D. A. Cairns is married with two children and lives on the south coast of New South Wales in Australia where he works as an English language teacher and writes stories in his very limited spare time. He has had  a number of short stories published. Devolution is the name of his recently released first novel.

Read a great quote recently that said something like writers fear obscurity not poverty. I like that.

He says, "I write because I enjoy it. I get these carzy and/or interesting ideas and I flesh them out into stories and I find that tremendously satisfying. I hope that people find my stories entertaining first of all but also though provoking."

"If I could touch one person with something I wrote: to make them laugh, to shock, inspire, frighten, or sadden them, I would be satisfied. Actually, for that reason I am satisfied."
