I picked up the reading habit from my late father, Subramania Venkataram Aiyer. Starting with Western novels in my teen years, I moved on to Suspense and Crime, Science Fiction and finally, Adventure Fantasy. When immersed in one novel or another, you always picture yourself in the shoes of the protagonist. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are my favourites. Now in my fifty-fourth year, I felt that I could also contribute to the writing fraternity and came up with the idea to do an adventure fantasy about three young princes who have just ascended the thrones of their respective kingdoms. They are tasked to save the world from the evil intentions of a mighty sorcerer. In their quest, they face one overwhelming hurdle after another and the reader is kept at the edge of his seat as to the eventual fate of the three kings.
I started conceptualising the beginnings of this adventure tale some six years ago with a brief outline of the plot and character sketches. Along the way I stumbled, but learnt much about the do's and dont's of authoring a book. What started out as a passing interest has now bloomed into a raging passion. Part 1 of the trilogy titled 'The Mythical Emblems of Gragodon' was released in the US by Eloquent Book Publishers. As mentioned above, Eloquent Book Publishers is no longer contracted to market this book.
In Singapore, I teach Mathematics though, with the materialization of Part 1 of the story, I look forward to becoming a full-time author. I am blessed to have found Raji, my wife of 27 years, with whom I have three wonderful boys, Sai, Hari and Prasaad. My wonderful family has indeed enlightened and taught me much about myself and I am eternally grateful for their presence in my life.
