Current occupation: Freelance research in conservation biology and ecology; Founder of Vrihi (the first non-govt. indigenous rice seed bank for folk farmers)
Currently engaged in: (1) conservation of 546 indigenous rice varieties of east India; (2) ecoforestry; (3) sustainable agriculture; (4) science for people movement; (5) anti-WTO activism; (6) demonstrating ecological economics on a small farm in a remote Indian village.
