I somehow ended up not just teaching but teaching kids much like my long-ago self, often compared to my "smart" big sister, earning less than stellar grades, and garnering lots of attention for myself--none of it good. I wanted better for my students and taught them how to find both personal and academic success. Helped their parents, too. And then I shared what I'd been learning and teaching in numerous articles, tip sheets, and three books: ESL Activities for Every Month of the School Year, Getting School-Wise: A Student Guidebook, and Other-Wise and School-Wise: A Parent Guidebook. Have now finished a tips booklet to help parents as they support their children's academic efforts: 149 Parenting School-Wise Tips: Intermediate Grades & Up.

Getting published, authoring my school's National School of Excellence Award, serving as a consultant and presenter, being noted in Who's Who among America's Teachers, earning my Master's degree, plus supervisory and principal certification.

Have contributed over 25 articles to clubmom.com, freelance for such outfits as suite101.com, and continue to write for such publications as Curious Parents.
