About putting audio files on AD content pages.

World's Largest Poetry Reading

I admit I'm late coming to reading aloud, but I've started. There are many arguments in favor of spoken word, poetry

readings, and author readings-which we are all aware of. But I didn't know, and only now have found out, how easy it is to

do.

Think how great it would be if people could hear you read anytime, anywhere. Think what that could mean to you as a poet

and how great it would be to listen to other poets read their material.

The best part is that it is essentially free-in the idea that if you are reading this article you already have the ability to do it

yourself at no additional cost.

Recently I put audio and video files on the page containing my most popular poem, "Mother's death." More recently I put up

audio and video on an other dozen poem pages. Further, I will now work on putting audio on every poetry page I have, 116

at the moment. Sure, I'm just a beginning spoken word reader of my poetry, but I'll get better. My videos are crude. Others

can do much better. But the point of this article is to encourage others to do audio and video with with their work on their

AD pages, which some authors have already done. But I encourage everyone to put some work up.

Here's how easy it is. Every computer has a place to attach a microphone. Plug one in. For windows go to Start>All

Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder.. I'm sorry and apologize I do not know the commands for Mac.

Press the start button and start talking. Play back what you have done. Rerecord until you are satisfied with the results and

then SAVE the file. UPLOAD it to your den storage. Or upload the file to wherever you put material for public access.

Then go back to your Add/Edit page in Authors Den and create a link to what you have uploaded. It's that simple.

I hope and expect others will soon join in putting audio and video on their poetry pages. A previous article of mine explains
