This is the unexpected result when I thought I was stuck in a glut trying to glorify my God.
And Jesus Smiled
Eagerly,
I positioned myself
In front of my computer.
More than anything else
I wanted to
glorify My God today.
My gaze strayed up
to the picture
of “The Laughing Jesus”
just atop my shelf.
Unknowingly ,
the verse
“And Jesus Wept.”
floated inside my head.
I poised myself
to punch at the keyboard
to glorify My God.
Yet …
Nothing,
no words
no insight.
Nothing,
nothing to offer
nothing to write.
I wonder
where have ALL
the eloquence gone…?
I sat
and wait .
I wait
and waited.
Still
nothing…
only
blankness.
A blankness
staring
staring back at me.
Then
sadness…
Immense
deep
overwhelming sadness
slowly crept
into my consciousness.
I sense My Jesus
Weeping.
Weeping …
in agony,
in heartrending silence.
Weeping…
for His lost sheep.
Weeping for those
who
remained oblivious
to His gift
of mercy and forgiveness.
So
I stayed my mind,
stilled my restless soul
and joined My Christ Jesus
in His immense
heartrending sadness.
Then,
I found myself repeating
Words from a famous worship song.
In my mind,
with all my heart,
it went like this:
“Lord, I offer my life to You.
Everything I’ve been through ,
Use it for Your glory.
Lord , I offer my days to You.
As a living sacrifice
Lord, I offer You my life.”
And Jesus smiled.
And I cried.
I cried
in joy
in gratefulness and thanksgiving
because My Jesus
accepted my offering …

Does it take as much faith to be an atheist as a Christian ?"
It should be possible to appreciate good wriing without sharing a religious viewpoint.
Here is my response to the above esaay.
As a strong atheist and having debated this with agnostics many times I could not disagree more.
First of all, nobody can agree even on the definition of god.
In fact, gods do exist. Some are made of stone, some of crystal some of granite. Is that what you mean by gods? Well those gods can exist and do exist but they are useless.
As for the christian/Jewish/islamic god, it does not exist simply because that god is a logical impossibility.
Now, untill you define what kind of god can or cannot exist or is unknowable from a definition point of view, you are arguing an unintelligeable argument.
Let me make this simple. Nothing within existence can exist under the label "god" and nothing outside existence can exist as it is circular logic.
Therefore, all that exists is self sustaining. A self sustaining being within existence cannot be both in existence and the source of existence. It is either outside existence, which means in the mind of people alone, or within existence, in which case it is not a god but a product or byproduct of existence. In either case, god, as has been proposed by manking, IS a logical impossibility.
