Unsung heroes are designed for a specific need in the world in order to fulfill the wholeness of whom is the Lord Himself.

What does a hero look like? Is he or she dressed a certain way? Are they wearing a cape? Do they have incredible abnormal power? If all heroes looked the same, we could pick them out of a crowd in no time at all. One thing that is certain is all heroes really do have supernatural strength.
True heroes must have two characteristics to set them apart. The first is super human strength and the second is unselfishness. These two distinguishing attributes must be in unison for anyone to a hero. Imagine using these two attributes and applying them where no one but God can see them in operation.
No one but you and the Lord are able to see what you have done and how you managed to save one person from starving. Perhaps you donated your time in encouraging someone or caused them not to fall into deep despair. Maybe you gave a kind word to someone who was lonely and needed a friend.
Are these people really heroes? We after all are just doing what is right. We are just being kind. Maybe you are one of those who just acted on impulse one day and in a moment decided to give something of yourself in order to help another.
Whatever you did or have done to be loving to those around you still takes strength beyond your own. This love gets its energy from the One that created it and within His name is truly all what it encompasses. It takes a tiny miracle from above to enable this unselfish love action. In order for love to materialize, the Lord Himself must make His presence known through our actions for without Him we can do nothing.
We have seen and heard stories of firemen who have ran into burning buildings to unselfishly protect and save anyone who may be in danger. They are prepared before they even arrive at the scene. They put on their protective gear and direct their thoughts to the people at hand. We see their incredible strength and mobility as they come out of the building carrying the saved person in their arms. With their helmets and fire retardant clothing, we are unable to see who they are. We only see what they have done and how their acts of unselfishness caused another to be saved.
In our everyday lives how many have we rescued from discouragement, hunger, loneliness and depression. How many have seen the results of our actions when we have carried others in order that they may be saved from their circumstances? How many have we held in our spiritual arms in order to bring some sense of salvation? The biggest question however is how many times have you actually put on the spiritual gear in order that you may be able to resist all that could harm you in order to save someone else?
Just as super heroes change and put on their warrior clothing in order to gain superhuman strength, spiritually we must do the same in order to be effectual in helping others in order to save them in their situation.
The putting on of spiritual armor causes us to be effectual in helping others. Through the presence of the Holy Spirit we almost become super human as we are endowed with the things of the Spirit. This spiritual power enables the supernatural ability within us.
Some did not believe that Christ was the Lord until He died on the cross.
They did not acknowledge Him till they seen the fruit of His ultimate giving. We must recognize that a hero is not a hero until after He has given his all to save another. Often we don’t acknowledge and realize his presence till after he is gone. Though we cannot always see his face we know by his fruit what He has done. We know that through this hero we are able to witness complete unselfishness and admire the courage it took for him or her to what they had to do.
Thus when we act in accordance to the Spirit that lives within us, we are able to become the unsung heroes of earth’s history.
Though at times no one can see our expressions of love toward others, we know that the ultimate Hero sees and gives us the power we need. Therefore unsung heroes are not really unsung; their voices are just heard from those who wish to hear.
