What it is like to live with depression.

Evil things have invaded this land, this land that has been mine since the day of my birth. Beneath these beasts of destruction, once green and fertile fields have become barren wastelands resembling some other world. I vainly attempt to drive them out with, talk, medication, meditation, but my efforts have been easily thwarted, for these are powerful beings. I look toward a sky that was once blue but is now dark, and in the air, I can smell the stench of my own despair.

I am constantly pushed by these intruders as they attempt to drive me to the boundaries of my world and beyond into the pit that lies there. Yet I cannot give up, will not give in to their demands upon me.

I only wish for peace to return, but I know that where these beings live peace will not enter. I am not alone in my battle however for I have a wellspring of strength that I draw from that is called faith. The battle I must fight alone for it is a war brought to me by my own sins, sins that have drawn into my world these beasts of torture, Fear, Depression, and unnamed creatures that whisper things in the darkness that I cannot seem to hear. The struggle has been long and arduous. There have been many moments of near defeat, yet I have continued to fight, will continue to fight. I will never surrender; never cede this land that is my mind.
