Local author serves up her third novel

   What started as an idea between friends has transpired into a third novel for Sharon Lockwood.
   Recently holding book signings in London and Barrie, the Alliston resident has been busy this summer.  On top of working as a painter, she has scheduled events to promote A Large Double-Double Please.  When time allows, she is still serving coffee, which she took on as research for the novel.
   Usually writing solo, Lockwood shares the literary experience with friend Mary Fraser this time.  Having a co-author is easier according to Lockwood, who enjoyed having someone to bounce ideas off of.  Working as a coffee shop manager for 15 years, Fraser has witnessed a lot of curious behavior from customers and staff, and it was her who brought the book idea to Lockwood.
   Lockwood says the result of the collaboration is short anecdotes about people in front of and behind the coffee shop counter.
   "Both sides of the counter can be frustrating from what I've seen," says Lockwood.  "Anyone in the service industry can appreciate the book."
   It took a year for the novel to unfold, including writing and taking on part time duties serving coffee.
   In the fall, she intends to do more promotion of the novel.  She also confirms that another book expanding on the premise of A Large Double-Double Please is in the works.
