Since the economy has been in a downturn my wife was looking for a part-time job to supplement our income. She found a Job at one of the many stores that have popped up around the country, you know the kind I am talking about. The ones that are equivalent to the old dime stores...nothing over a certain price?
Well my wife is a cashier and part of her job is "recovery" where she picks up the remnants that shoppers discard to the floor. As my wife was making her rounds around the store she became very aware of a pungent odor coming from the toy aisle. She investigated and found a stink bomb was stomped into the carpet. The stench of that stink bomb permeated the store.
Every customer that came into the store would complain about the awful smell. My wife would apologize and explain what had happened. Most customers would laugh and say something about kids being kids.
The most intriguing part of this story is that the store broke the record for stink bomb sales that day. The majority of the sales were to middle aged-men giggling as they made their purchases
Oh now I get what you meant about the Dollar Store! So far I have read all but one. Pretty good writing and I mean it too! LOL One of the things I do is critiques and the only ones I can find about your work is that you need to use proper punctuation and paragraphs to enhance the ease of reading and you need MORE material. The stories end just when they are getting good. I did especially like the one about your Mom. I honestly think they speak volumes about you and your life. I also joined this site, no competition, just thought I might try it for awhile.
