Seeing what people think about love today, i just tried to define this sacred word in my own words and tell them what it truly means.

                                       !~! L O V E !~!

                                                  TRUE DEFINITION

We all know the word “LOVE” which is known as the most beautiful word. Its nearly on every other person’s lips. Every person is talking about love. But does anyone know the real meaning of this word “LOVE”?

Maybe i am not of age, maybe i am not so matured, maybe you will think that i don't understand these things.....but i believe, that love has nothing to do with age and that I can truly define what love is, what true love is and can differentiate between true love and what this love means in todays world. In this essay of mine(apologise if its not called ‘essay’ because I don’t know the exact definition for my written work, actually iam a little weak in english!), I have penned down some of the extracts from a book “THOUGHT FOR TODAY  published by Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyallaya, Mount Abu which I bought from a not so big book store on Christmas. This essay, as I call it, also contains some of my own thoughts and experiences(actually most of its parts are mine! But my hearty thanks to that beautiful book which I got as his gift on Christmas and inspired me.)

Love! What is love? Why, When, How? Nobody knows. It just happens. We just fall in love, dive deep beneathe an ocean of completely different feelings and emotions, and we never wish to come out of it, don’t want to see the land again! When we are in love, the world is not the same as we have known for so long. We are in a completely different world. We see nothing, but our love, that’s why it is said that love makes us blind.

Love is the sweetest thing that can happen in one’s life. A person falls in love without even realizing it. And he thinks only about the person he loves. Love does not mean only spending long, beautiful hours together. It also means finding unbounded joy in a mere glance and soft caress of the loved one. A teenage college guy loves a girl, he looks at her and when she looks back at him and smiles, he jumps and pounces, and says to his friends, in a quite childish way, keeping his voice as low as he can so that no one could hear but his friends with a sort of blush on his face, “ Hey, you saw, you saw it? She looked at me, she looked at me buddy, and, and she  smiled!” Nobody, even his friends, could  feel what he felt at that time.(Iam a guy, so iam talking in sense of a guy here but the feelings are same for both men and women)

In true love, we laugh, we enjoy with our loved ones, but sometimes, we cry too. The feeling in unkown(to me), but it is in love only. Anyone can laugh in and be happy in love, but few cry, the true lovers. Well said, “Love is loveliest when embalmed in tears.

Love is indeed, the greatest and the most powerful force. It can take us to a height and leave us light and airy. Yet it has been the most abused and misused force. Many degraded things pass for love.

It is not love we see in today’s modern lovers, not all, but most of them! Today what most of them care about is just sex, lust and body satisfaction, few understand the true love.

Sex is not a bad thing, but when we talk about true love, it is not just about bodies.

There is a popular song,(if you listen english songs!) which says, “What the world need now is love-sweet love.” NO! What the world actually needs is an accurate and a correct understanding of love. True love is based on understanding, mutual trust and respect, not simply emotions.

Love is being in balance, in harmony with the self, God(as you all call him) and our fellow men. Love is selflessness. Love is not an emotional state confined to whims and fancies, not just limited to sex, but a transcendent state of consciousness which goes beyond the bodily forms. Love has nothing to do with bodies; Love dwells in the soul!

LOVE IS ;

-Understanding

-Trust

-Respect

-Care

Well, you certainly have given the topic much thought. I myself am still, and will always be, a student of life. I don't have many of the answers but I believe that you hit the proverbial nail on the head when you said that the wold needs a correct understanding of love.

I often liken love as the ability to be in a room with someone and have an entire conversation just by looking into the other persons eyes, and never speaking a word. When there is a connection that transends the physical, and the contentment to just "be" with another and enjoy the comforting silence.

Nicely done!
