Articles need to be written a certain way if you want to get the best search engine ranking and website traffic. There are three things which are mainly responsible for the best results. They are the title, keyword density, and LSI. What follows, will make you aware of these three important things, so you can take steps to improve your results.
I’m sure you already know how important the article title is. But there are two things that you can do to improve results.
First, readers read articles that are of interest to them only. They use keywords to find these articles. It naturally follows that to get more website traffic, you need to make sure those words are included in the title.
Second, people actually click into an article when they are curious to know what it tells them. The lesson here is, the more curiosity the title generates, the more readers there will be. Now we need to look at keyword density.
Keyword density is simply the number of times a keyword appears. So, the more times a certain keyword appears, the more relevant search engines will consider the article to be. Consequently, it will be given a higher search engine ranking.
However, don’t get carried away and just load the article with keywords. Search engines will flag any website, where an article contains a keyword that makes up more than 3%. As a result, you could get into trouble for keyword abuse and get a lower search engine ranking.
A safe area is between 1-3% for keywords. Therefore, in a 400 word article, the keyword should appear at least four times but not more than 12. Lastly, let’s talk about LSI.
What’s LSI? LSI stands for ‘Latent Semantic Indexing’ and affects a website’s search engine ranking. LSI is the process whereby the search engine sorts keywords into relevant categories.
For example, if you used the word ‘tree’ to search the internet, your results would include the forest variety, the family tree and probably several other types. Therefore, you would probably refine your results to make them more relevant by adding a word or two. Search engines, realising this, give a higher ranking to content that contains other words related to the main keyword or keywords. So pay attention to LSI if you want to improve your website traffic.
To get higher search engine rankings, always ensure these three areas are addressed. Make sure the article titles generate curiosity and include keywords, the content has a keyword density of 1-3%, and that you optimise for LSI. So start including these things in all your articles and should start getting more website traffic.
