They say write about what you know, so as am Englishman who headed west to these sometimes United States I knew much of the issues first hand that Fred comes across in my novel Across the Pond.

When I received a review from a 12 year old who stated "it a very good book because I started it and counl'nt put it down untill I finished the last page" I feel I people are enjoying the read.

Proving to be a great read for teens to seniors, my novel Across the Pond, is doing really well since it's launch this month. Only 117 pages but full of romance, education, excitement and little bit of sport it would make a great gift.

Across the Pond:

These are some of the challenges that face almost fifteen-year-old, English born Fred Squire in my novel “ACROSS THE POND”. A Young Adult manuscript of 34,413 words, read, critiqued and enjoyed by several SCBWI groups throughout it’s year pupation period.

When his parents win a trip to Australia, Fred finds himself packed off to visit family friends in the United States. Even worse, he’s given a boring language project to complete.

But then he meets Brittany.
Fred soon finds himself struggling, not only with his growing feelings for Brit, but also with the language differences. His confusion only increases when he meets Brit’s flirtatious friend, Angel.

Escaping from a confrontation with Steve Harris, the neighborhood lech, Brit tells Fred her dark secret about Harris, and Fred's life is turned upside down.

Life continues to throw Fred a curveball when he catches a baseball worth a small fortune at a New York Met’s game. Further angry run-ins with Harris, a crazy family BBQ, and being chased through a Boston mall all add to the thrill of Fred's American adventure.

A final fight between Fred and Harris, which Fred wins, causes Brit to at last reveal her painful secret to her parents. Later, a visit from an Atlanta Braves representative enables Fred to make a decision about the future of the special baseball he’d caught.

It’s soon time for “Brit and his Brit” to part, but not before Fred arranges several surprises, including having Brit meet her ultimate baseball idol.

Having enjoyed his first encounter with love, Fred must also face his first experience with heartbreak when he leaves for England.

Fortunately, a final surprise gift of round trip tickets means that Fred will soon be able to make a return visit "across the pond” to be with the girl he loves.

It is a story for the young and young at heart. Read by many... enjoyed by even more.
