This is an article reflecting on why I write. My guess is that many of you might be able to relate to this article.
As I write my poems, articles, books, I have to reflect on why I find such joy in writing and why I write.It brings me joy because I am able to express many different thoughts and feelings I have in a way that is comfortable for me and where I can take my time. Where as with talking you usually have to think right on the spot.It gives me joy to try and provide some kind of attempt at giving hope and encouragement to others, in a way that I could never do in other ways. I have the opportunity to communicate with many people all over the world. That is pretty amazing if you think of it.It is wonderful when people seem to like my work or are touched by it.
I write because I have to. That may sound strange, so let me explain. I have these ideas that I seem to need to express. It is something in me that needs to be said. Many times I will read what I wrote and think, where did that come from?It comes from a deep place within me and what a wonderful way to communicate these ideas, feelings and thoughts!
Yes, I am very lucky and fortunate to be able to write and have such wonderful feed back!I I thank God and I thank you who read my writings.You bring me such joy!!!
Few people in the U.S. know about the Orphan Trains and what happened to the children who rode them. I have strong feeling for abused child laborers and the Orphan Train riders. I feel fulfilled when people thank me for informing them about Orphan Trains, even though my trilogy is fiction. It is based on facts and reveals how the lives of the children AND THE ADULTS were changed by the adoption.
Today I am starting my fourth book; a continuation of my trilogy. Having a desire to tell something makes it easier to write about it.
How true your words are! It is a joy to write but a greater joy to know WHY you write. God has so blessed your gift and He will continue to fill your pen with His ink of wisdom and love.
