It is not the memory of where you were on September 11th that is important. It is where you are now that will bring about the transformation needed in our world and create a future of choice. It is up to each of us to create that future together.

“The secret of a good memory is attention, and attention to a subject depends upon our interest in it. We rarely forget that which has made a deep impression on our minds.”
Tryon Edwards (1809 - 1894)

“Where were you on September 11th” is a phrase I’ve heard over and over again. It seems that the events of that day will live within the consciousness of our nation forever. As a nation we were in a slumber going about our way each day thinking our way of life would never change. Then………

“One must have a good memory to be able to keep the promises one makes.”
Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900)

We forgot our promise to our forefather’s. We were asleep at the switch and we were abruptly awakened into a world that seems like the Twilight Zone. We are now a hunted people. We are hunted by those who wish to remove freedom, enslave their populations, and live in a world far removed from that of our reality.

“History is the witness that testifies to the passing of time; it illumines reality, vitalizes memory, provides guidance in daily life and brings us tidings of antiquity.”
Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC), Pro Publio Sestio

Several weeks have passed since we awoke as a nation to the reality of this new world. We no longer are asleep but now have become alert, vigilant, and poised to overcome that which tests our resolve to live in a civilized world. The vast panorama of our world stage has been illuminated and our lives have become closer because of it.

“If you want to test your memory, try to recall what you were worrying about one year ago today.”
Rotarian

Is our world different today than it was last year? Have things changed or have we become awakened to the world as it is? We now see evil where evil was not seen before. We see injustice where injustice was not seen before. We see the worst of mankind but have responded with the best of mankind.

“It's a funny thing about life; if you refuse to accept anything but the best, you very often get it.”
W. Somerset Maugham (1874 - 1965)

Our world has changed in many ways. We now refuse to accept anything but the best in ourselves. We fight to remove injustice from a tired and weary people, work to build a new world based upon freedom, and give from our hearts to help a neighbor. It is the best of us that we now see. We have been awakened to our true nature and we see how truly blessed we are as a people.

“Use the talents you possess -- for the woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except for the best.”
Unknown

Now it is our turn to create history. It is our responsibility to undergo the test that our forefathers so successfully passed. It is our path that will make the difference and create a future of choice. We must apply all our talents, energy, and dreams to the task at hand. By doing this we will see a new sunrise that will take our breath away.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt.”
Unknown

For the first time in several generations we now feel what it is to be free and see before our eyes what a world evil can create. We now feel from a place deeper than any we have experienced before in our lifetime. We have uncovered the beauty of who we are and it is good. It is because we are awakened to this truth that we can now proceed to build, create, and sustain a new world fashioned from the depths of our hearts.

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely.
The Land Before Time

It is not where you were on September 11th that is important. It is where you are now that will bring about the transformation needed in our world and create a future of choice. It is up to each of us to create that future together.

“If you begin the day with love in your heart, peace in your nerves, and truth in your mind, you not only benefit by their presence but also bring them to others, to your family and friends, and to all those whose destiny draws across your path that day.”
