A Harpist’s Dream
O, I can see for you and me
A world that’s safe, no poverty
And I know that we can build it
And preserve it
This is a harpist’s dream
For all eternity
O, in my dream for you and me
There’s only love and harmony
And I know that we can build it
And preserve it
This is a harpist's dream
Praying for reality
There’ll be no wars, no sacrifice
Our children raised without strife or vice
And I know that we can build it
And preserve it
This is a harpist’s dream
With all sincerity
And if we build it
And preserve it
There’ll be no hunger
Or wants or needs
And if we build it
And preserve it
There’ll be only peace
And good will deeds
O, in my dream for you and me
There’s only love and harmony
And I know that we can build it
And know we can preserve it
This is a harpist’s dream
For a certainty
This dream that lives in my heart
For you and me
Is a harpist’s dream
For all eternity
Renowned Professional Harpist Magdalene Wong of Singapore began music lessons on the piano at the age of four. She served as an instructor in classical guitar for the Yamaha Music School for twenty years before pursuing her fascination with the harp in 1990. A Harpist’s Dream was her first composition for harp and was written as a musical score without lyrics. By invitation, lyrics by Authorsden Gold Member Richard Lee Orey have now been added. This informal posting on Authorsden is the first publication of the complete composition.
