Christianity is not just a religion. It has to do with living in a relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. It also has to do with living in a relationship with people. This relationship begins with you and God. It however extends to fellow believers, and to the people in the community as well as to the unbelievers around you. Therefore in our effort to strive to attain fruitfulness through practical Christianity, we need to consider the following issues:

Maintaining a good Personal Relationship with God

GOD`S PART

Every meaningful relationship begins with God and God too is interested in a lasting relationship with man.

a). God’s Call – He call man from miry clay into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9)

b). God’s Resources – Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, Liberty, Hope, Confidence, His Power, His Word, His

     authority.

c). The Name and the Blood of Jesus – (John 20:31; 1 Cor. 6:11; Phil. 2:10)

d). Holy Spirit – the presence and companion of the Holy Spirit

MAN`S PART

a). Salvation – the need to experience genuine salvation provided through the death of Jesus (Rom 6:23, 8:2)

b). Baptism in the Holy Spirit – to experience the in-filling of the Spirit of God (Eph 3:5)

c).  Daily Communion with God – through daily personal devotion (quiet time) (Psalm 63:1; Isa 26:9)

d).  Holiness – indulge in living a daily life of holiness (Eph 4:24; 1Thess 4:7)

e).  Obedience – yielding to say yes Lord to His will (Rom 6:16)

f).  The Bible – daily studying God’s word which expresses His Will and desires (Psalm 119:105)

g).  Growth – experience daily Christian growth as you live and serve God (Mal 4:2; Jeh 12:2)

Building a Strong Interpersonal Relationship with Others

As Christians, our responses, attitudes and behavior wherever we are should speak well of our belief and the new life we have taken after Christ.

a). Love – genuine love for others determines our love for God (John 13:34)

b). Humility – enhance our submission to one another and help us put others first (1 Peter 5:5)

c). Endurance – God`s grace upon us to be able to tolerate other people.

d). Holy Spirit – guides us into harmonious and peaceful relationship if we listen and obey Him.

e). Be an example – in word, in conversation, in charity (love), in spirit, in faith and in purity (1 Tim 4:12).

Call to Witness

a). Every believer is called to witness the good news

b). Witnessing is a command (Mk 16:15)

c). Jesus empowered the believers for witnessing

d). Jesus pledged His support to those who will obey to witness (Matt 28:20)

d). His Word and the Holy Spirit is the main tool for witnessing.

We are to witness through our lifestyle (Act 11:26), Gospel Proclamation (Act 4:1, 8:4), Persuasive Evangelism (Act 4:23-24), Literature Evangelism (Tracts) and Power Evangelism (God’s power manifestation and miracles).
