Darden North appeared for a book signing as one of the featured authors at the Sisters-in-Crime booth during the 2009 Southern Independent Book Association show in Greenville, SC. Held at the Carolina First Center, the event attracted independent booksellers from throughout the Southeast as well as national publishers, book distributors, and literary agents.
Darden North was joined by fellow fiction author Deborah Sharp who was also singing her novel Mama Rides Shotgun: A Mace Bauer Mystery. Deb is a wonderful person with a great personality, and I look forward to reading and sharing the copy of her novel that she signed for me.
Bruce Moran of Total Recall Publications was there on the show floor promoting his authors and, incidentally, along with agent Maureen Manning was the lucky auction winner of the dinner with author Darden North through the premiere of the SIBA Writers' Block event held September 26, 2009.
Among other authors I met who were also appearing at the show for book signings were Mike Angley, author of Child Finder Resurrection; Bob Doerr, author of Dead Man Can Kill; John M. Wills, author of Chicago Warriors: Midnight Battles in the Windy City, and Gino Brogdon, author of Demons in the Crawl.
SIBA Executive Director Wanda Jewell and her staff organized and pulled off a fantastic event.
