If There Ever Was A Time To Pray, The Time Is Now!
by Dr. Meylon Tillman-Clark
Rated "G" by the Author.

Rev. Meylon Tillman-Clark, D.Min., pastor and author, Columbus House of Hope Church

Why did you write this book?

I wrote the book, If There Ever Was a Time to Pray, the Time Is Now!  for several reasons; to remind some and to help others gain new insight into God’s mandate for all Believers to pray on behalf of their cities, no matter where they are or how they got there; to help the reader grasp the concept that this mandate is not just for the corporate body, but for every individual Believer to care about the people and the place God has sent them and seek the welfare of the city and pray on its behalf; to share some intimate details on the impact of prayer in my personal life and in the life of my family; and finally, to provide some simple, yet exciting steps to developing an intercessory prayer ministry.

Where is it available? Cost? The event on the 12th—that’s a book signing? Where?

The book is available now through my publisher’s online bookstore . www.publishamerica.com and will be available December 12th through BN, Books-A-Million, Borders, Amazon.com and the Sanctuary Bookstore.

The retail price is $19.95.

The Book Signing is, December 12th - 2:00 PM-4:00 PM, at the Sanctuary Bookstore.

When did you start your intercessory prayer ministry and why?

The intercessory prayer ministry began five years ago as a natural progression after completing my research for the Biblical, Historical and Theological Foundation pieces of my Dissertation, which was Developing an Intercessory Prayer Ministry that Focuses on Praying for the Community and Community Change.

In your prayer ministry, you incorporate prayer traditions of African-Americans. In general, how do these differ from other traditions?

At the onset of the prayer ministry, we did an in-depth study of the “Prayer Tradition of Black People,” written by Harold A. Carter. It traces the impact of our ancestors’ prayer life from slavery through the civil rights era. I have no comment on other prayer traditions.

Where are you a church member? (Do y’ll still have the ministry off Talbotton Road?)

I am Senior Pastor at Columbus House of Hope Church, 3908 Hamilton Road.

In what era did you grow up in Jackson, Miss., and how did that place and time inform you?

I grew up during the civil rights and early desegregation era. It impressed upon me that one does not have to settle for the way things are. We can help change the world around us.

Who’s in your family?

My husband (Dr.) Brel and I have been married for over thirty-three years. Our son, Brel II, is a music producer in Atlanta. Roben, our daughter is studying criminal justice and grandson, Jahmai “Alex” (the joy of our lives) is in kindergarten.

Clark will sign copies of her book 2-4 P.M. today at the Sanctuary, the Landings off Airport Thruway. it's also available at publishamerica.com and through Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Borders, and Amazon.com. It costs $19.95.
