Keshawn Dodds was the Featured author at the Ludlow Elementary School Literacy Night.
From the Ludlow Register. http://www.ludlowregisteronline.com/
Dodds, a professor and Director of Fraternities and Sororities at American International College, shared his writing experiences during a book reading. The Springfield native, who has authored three books so far, discussed his literary journey.
“I’m not in this for millions of dollars. I love what I do,” he said.
Dodds spoke about the passing of his lifelong friend at the age of 18 and how important it was for him to keep his friend with him through a character in his books. He said he never expected his books to be published.
He wrote the books for himself and his own memories; however, a professor at the college encouraged him to publish, “And here I am,” he said, telling students that anything is possible in life and in written form.
Dodds captivated all age groups as he read from his book “Menzuo in the Calling of the Sun Prince,” which he will be republishing in June of 2010 under Lulu Enterprises Inc. In addition to intriguing the audience with storylines, Dodds fielded questions from audience members. He said he will return to Veterans Park in June for lunch and a book signing.
He stressed that “knowledge is power,” and he encouraged students to continue to read. Dodds books, including his latest “Legend of the Blue Diamond,” are available at Barnes and Noble,
http://www.amazon.com/ and at http://www.iuniverse.com/, and soon, the re-release of “Menzuo in the Calling of the Sun Prince” will be available through http://www.lulu.com/.
