Deanie Humphrys-Dunne, a New Fairfield resident, has written a book, "Tails of Sweetbrier" (PublishAmerica).

It is a true story about a little girl who dreams of becoming a champion horseback rider.

Humphrys-Dunne was born with a handicap that made walking difficult. What does her dad do when the doctors say she will never be able to walk? He decides to teach her to ride horses.

Will she give up when things don't go well? What happens when she falls off her horse? Even if she prevails, she will need just the right horse to become a winning team.

This story is inspirational and shows nothing is impossible if you don't quit.

The author grew up in Easton. She is a graduate of the Institute for Children's Literature and has written for Horsepower magazine. "Tails of Sweetbrier" is her first book. It is illustrated by her sister, Holly Humphrys-Bajaj.

A second book, "Charlie the Horse" (PublishAmerica), by Deanie Humphrys-Bajaj, and illustrated by Holly Humphrys-Bajaj, is about Charlie, who dreams of becoming a famous racehorse like his dad, Charles the Great.
