This is about my dog that had to be put to sleep way before he got to live much of life.

A Tribute to Tucker

When Tucker came to live with us he was beautiful.  He was a light reddish brown and light tan legs with black toenails.  His ears and tail were dark reddish brown with highlights of black in them.  The inside of his ears were so pink and clean they looked like the inside of conck shells at the ocean.  His coat was a medium length, but would never get messed up.  I think that  he was the softest dog I have ever petted.
About the second or third day we had him he made a flying leap from our coffee table to my lap.  I was so shocked beings he was the size of a golden retriever.  My daughter had never said he had done that to her.  I told him I didn't mind if he wanted to sit on my lap that was fine, but he had better ask permission from then on.  That dog never jumped on me like that again.  He would come up to the chair and sit down and actually sound like he was asking to come up.  I would tell him that he could come up. He would then jump up and sit so straight and proud on my lap.  Then turn his head and lovingly look at me.  Sometimes he would turn over and want to be held like a baby and just talked to.  I loved to rock that dog.
When we would get up in the morning Scout would already be up and Tucker would run and slide three feet in the hallway just to see him.  He played with toys on his back and held them like a baby would.  His personality was so sweet too.
At the time that he came to our house we had my mother-in-law's dog Lexie with us.  She is a pom that stays with us from November to April, because my mother-in-law had fallen and broke her hip about three years ago.  When Lexie is here she is top dog.  My husband always feeds the dogs when he eats.  They all sit around him and they all get there turn.  Tucker was on the right of my husband then Scout and finally Lexie was on the left.  To say that they are spoiled would be an understatement for sure.
I miss Tucker so much. I loved that dog with all of my heart. I hope to see him in Heaven some day along with all of my other beloved animals that I have lost over the years.
  I Love You Sweetie!!
