Being obedient to God’s unwavering words, “Write a book,” she wrote and self-published God Cancelled Satan’s Assignment. After years of living with fear, shame and guilt; which stemmed from unfortunate decision making and incorrect choices, she became determined to surrender and became submissive to her heavenly Father, God.

Since then, the Lord has been maturing her as she closely walks with Him. She refuses to be held back by the Satan’s influences. It was not until she became a published author that she had been a writer since childhood. Because writing was a soothing thing for her to do, habitually, she wrote poetry. When she reached adulthood, besides poetry, she wrote, skits, short stories and plays, but Satan placed in her mind that none of it was good quality. The positive feedback she has received from readers of her book ha inspired her to go on with writing, in hope of encouraging, motivating and reminding others that with Christ, all things are possible. I get my reward when comments like these:

“Wow! I really enjoyed your book. Some of the situations in it are related to things I’m battling with right now. Thank you for sharing that amazing story.”

“The book was awesome! I loved it. God is a good God. Will you help me write a book?”

“Girl, that book made me think about my life, and how with Christ, my negatives can become positives.”

“I’ve read that book three or four times, and can’t get enough of it. God had you covered.”

“Every now and then, I go to a particular chapter in the book and read it for encouragement. I like how the Bible scriptures fit so well with each problem.”

“Beautifully written! The details put me in the story. I cried, laughed, sung, reminisced and looked forward to a brighter future. Are you going to do a sequel?”

Tina is confident that God gave all his children if not several, at least one special gift. I push and challenge people to find and use what the Lord has blessed them with. After all, we always ask Him for whatever we want. So why not use what He’s given to us. Clearly, He expects us and others to our gifts to prosper in Him and in life.

Several years ago, Tina realized that God was maturing her, and wanted to use her for His glory when she unexpectedly did something she had never done before. A newly employed co-worker was enlightening her on the burdens of obtaining a desired career. Before she recognized it, she was holding the lady’s hand and praying for her. Eventually, and with the guidance of the holy spirit, she prayed with and for others; which evolved into intercessory praying. Tina thanks God for allowing her to be a vessel to spread the gospel, and gives Him the glory, honor and praise for all that she does and will do to build up His kingdom.

Tina Marie Shelton was born to the late Preston J. Shelton, Sr. and the late Loraine L. Shelton in Lafayette, La. She is the 12^th of 13 children. As a small child, with her family, she frequented church, Sunday school, Bible study and Vacation Bible School. At an early age, she realized that her most peaceful moments came when she was in a church setting.

Tina, who currently lives in Port Arthur, Texas, works in education, and enjoys enhancing children’s academic skills. Additionally, she has a passion for creativity. She takes pleasure in graphic design. Tina has created two board games; one of them is Biblical-based and the other is educational. She is looking forward to seeing them on the store shelves in the near future. Recently, she completed writing and casting for a stage play “What about the Children.” The play will be performed for the first time in two-three months (October/November, 2010).
