Not in many a year has the number of foreclosures reached this level. Millions of homeowners are losing their homes due to lost of income, or adjustments being made in their mortgage payments. Thousands are just simply walking away from their homes because the value of the property has decreased so much that they are underwater(owe more than the property is worth).
