These are all must-watch movies mostly in English, with underlying cultural, racial and feminist themes. She is not Bollywood A-List, but we thank Lisa Ray for taking on these roles without hesitancy and serving the Indian LGBT community.

Bipasha Basu has attitude, looks and brains. Let it be said that Neil Nitin Mukesh recently said that Bipasha Basu is intimidating to men. Her performance in Dhoom 2 as a talented and beautiful cop pretty much elevates her as an icon for lesbian women. Her introduction scene in Dhoom 2 is where tough-cop Basu hits the bulls eye with her gun and then struts down the corridor in those tight jeans and tank top. Her role in Corporate as a strong business executive also places her high on the list.

Isha Koppikar She trains taekwondo and dancing. Far from being a social and political statement about Indian lesbianism, her movie stereotypically reduces female homosexuality to traumatic childhood incidents, topped with a lesbian psycho-killer storyline that does grave injustice to lesbians in India. Yet, Isha Koppikar delivered a great performance especially in the second half as a dykish kick-boxer who beats up on men at night to earn the rent.

Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World title, and adulterous mistress roles, Priyanka made her break-through last year with the gay-themed Dostana and Fashion. It won her a Best Actor in a Female Role Filmfare Award.

Nandita Das Banned in India and Pakistan, Fire attracted controversy and violence all of which worked in favor. Nandita Das is that she is not your conventionally-hot lesbian Bollywood actress. She is talented in her ability to do sensitive roles.
