You are what you eat. An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure. The Natural way is safer than perscription medicine with possible negative effects.

People usually become concerned about their health when the results of their annual blood test results are not that great.  For example, their Glucose number was 106 the previous year and this year it is 126.  The person is now a candidate of becoming a citizen of the Diabetic world.  Not to worry, all is not lost.

The person may already be overweight, the blood pressure is over 120/80,  the total cholesterol number is over 200, and so on.   The doctor has sent the person to a Nutritionist.

Note that I am not a medical professional. Please visit your doctor and listen to him or her.  Then you make the decision of the course to take.  Take prescription medicine with the possible negative effects or go the natural way.  You decide.

The following is a quick summary of some actions the person can take:

1)    Eat veggies, chicken, fish, some very lean meat, multi grain bread and/or brown rice.

2)    Pay attention to PORTIONS:  Fill  ½  of your plate with Veggies, preferably uncooked,   ¼   with broiled chicken or fish or very lean beef,  and ¼  with multi grain bread and or brown rice.

3)    If you are hungry after 2 to 3 hours, snack on carrots, celery, or multi grain crackers.  Make sure it has minimum sugar and sodium content.  Read the labels.

4)    You can eat thin Pizza or a Jr. Burger once or twice a week if you really have too.  That’s  fine.  Bear in mind, eat small portions  at a time and as often as needed.

5)    Do not miss breakfast.  It is the most important meal of the day.  Suggest oatmeal, with flax seed, honey instead of sugar and sprinkle some Cinnamon.  And add 1%  or better still, skim milk.

6)    Lunch as itemized in items 1) to 4).

7)    Dinner – make it light.

8)    Drink filtered and alkaline  water

(pH is greater than 7).
