It’s so true that NO ONE wants to admit to having any type of diminished self-esteem. Admitting that seems to most of us to be as humiliating as walking around with LOSER tattooed on your forehead. But it’s just not true —and our inability to look at diminished self-esteem as the biggest opportunity to now excel prevents many people from making changes that could change their life from ho-hum to humdinger!

The fact of the matter is that 87.9 percent of people identify themselves as having diminished self-esteem in one or more areas of their lives. Someone might be totally confident in her career abilities, but not so confident with intimate relationships. We all have things we can work on … and the good news is we can do it just by changing how and what we think.

So here’s the good news about diminished self-esteem:

1.       Diminished self-esteem is based on a negative thought. As a thought, it can be changed by consciously replacing the negative thought with a positive one.

2.       The negative thoughts that drive diminished self-esteem are really bad habits. To quit a bad habit, you must replace it with another habit. In this case, we replace it with a good habit of positive affirmations and beliefs.

3.       You and only you can determine what you think and believe about yourself. No one else can control it. So you have the power to overcome and change anything negative and harmful into something positive and supportive.

You’re in control … you just need to believe it!
