Everyday, read your mission statement with EMOTION as you VISUALIZE it!
Everyday, do what? Now I’m sure you have heard of good habits and how a little bit everyday can eventually build up to something big that can go a long way. So, I’m guessing that you are now figuring out that this article wants you to start a good habit that will serve you well someday... everyday.
I’ve heard somewhere that between 80%-90% of our behaviors is habitual and done without much thought. It's sort of like we're on autopilot. Well, let's adjust that autopilot. Create just four new habits a year, or one new habit a season. That's not too much to ask of you teens, is it?
By creating new habits, within a very short time and without much thought, you will be living a very productive life. Your habits will now serve you, instead of you serving them. Unfortunately, most of us don't do this. Many of us tend to be enslaved by our bad habits, that once again, are habitual and done without much thought. The masses autopilot is steering them toward danger. Don't be on that sinking ship!
Now your next question should be: What is a mission statement?
Simple. Your mission statement consists of you writing down your goals and the kind of person you want to be. In addition, include the type of behaviors that ideal person would live by. See, I told you mission statements were simple!
Next, read your new written mission statement everyday. Eventually, the concepts and behaviors of the type of person you want to be will get into your head. In addition, the kind of success that that kind of person deserves will eventually be yours. That means that you’ll eventually become that type of person and you’ll be rewarded with the kind of success those type of people usually enjoy.
As a positive consequence, you’ll eventually live a higher quality life than you live now. Furthermore, you will be in a better position to win in the game of life. Hence, as the trailblazer and the beacon of light, you’ll also be in a better position to help others to win as well in the game of life.
All of this high quality success and living sounds great, doesn’t it? Don’t you want all of this success and fun to happen sooner, rather than later? Well, it can if you follow my next piece of advice.
Everyday, when you’re reading your new written mission statement, you need to read it out loud with some emotion, and visualize it in great detail.
By reading your new written mission statement out loud with emotion you will give yourself the added motivation you need to get moving to make your dreams come true . You’ll be fired up and passionate, and always moving toward your goals in life. That movement or motion of your body in action, in return will also help keep your mind motivated. Why? I’ll tell you why! Motion creates emotion. Not only can your brain motivate your body to move toward goals, but the movement of your body can motivate your brain to stay focused on the goal. It’s a two way street. One hand is washing the other, and both get successfully cleaned. Then they both help the face get clean!
Next, you need to visualize your success, goals and behaviors in great detail everyday while reading your mission statement. Why? Because your brain can't actually tell the difference between visualized success and real success.
Don’t believe me? Try this: visualize a lemon. Really visualize it until you can see it in your mind’s eye clear as day. Now in your visualization, cut the lemon in half. Can you see it? Cut it again into small wedges. Can you see it now? Come on; really visualize this! Really visualize the lemon juice squirting out onto your hands while you're cutting the lemon. Good, now you’re doing it! Now, visualize picking up the yellow lemon and putting the juicy sour lemon wedge in your mouth...
Did the rear--side taste buds on the surface of your tongue just fire off saliva and give you a tingling feeling in the back-sides of your mouth? If you were really visualizing, they sure did because once again, your mind can't tell the difference between real and visualized!
Now if you visualize like this everyday with your success, goals, and behaviors of a successful person, when you come to the pivotal moment in your life for real, your body and brain will automatically know what to do! You will perform the winning behaviors without hesitation. Why? Because your body and brain feel like they have already done this task successfully thousands of times before. It just feels natural now to perform in the ways you visualized in successfully completing the tasks. Thus, you are now creating automatic success in your life. Your brain and body has been conditioned to win! You're on auto-pilot heading toward the good life.
Now teens, go ahead and create a written mission statement that will help you design the kind of high quality life that you really want to live. Read your written mission statement every day out loud with emotion as you visualize it in great detail. Finally, continue to learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us. Thanks in advance.
