Age 50 is a golden ripe age to be.
Life is fun and it is a blessing to have reached this golden age.

How To Enjoy Life At Age 50

Life is so wonderful at this stage of life.  If God has allowed you to reach this golden age, count your blessing.  you have been on this earth for quite sometimes now and have experienced a lots of things,  some maybe good or bad you learned from each of life teachings.  You are suppose to be more wiser and able to share your knowledge with your family, grandchildren, and others as well.  With all that life has bestowed upon you down through the years you are able to share some of this knowledge with them whether it is good or bad.  You are now in a position to settle into whatever makes you happy now.  You might be ready to retire early and just spend more time with your family and friends, or either do more traveling, visiting other lands and meeting other interesting people.  You might even have a talent or hobby that you might want to expand upon if you have more time to do so.  That is what you should do now, make your life far more exciting and interesting.  You will have time to be you.  This is an exciting time of life, especially for those of you who are blessed to be in your right mind, have your health, and  is financially able to do these things, just Thank God.  Don't get depressed or feel like life is over for you because it is not, life is just beginning for some.  Make the best out of being 50, live and live life wonderfully and happy.  Dress and wear the type of clothing that looks good on you and that will enhance your style and grace.  Buy that car that you have always wanted if you can afford it.  Just continue to keep your mind alert, read more good interesting books.  Take out more time for family outings, go on vacations if you can afford to.  Visit your distanct relatives more. If you have been grouchy or not to easy to get along with, try hard to change your ways and become more loving and kind.  If you don't smile that often, try smiling more.  Life isn't that bad.  Life is what we make it at age 50.  It can be good or bad, it is up to each individual.  Age 50 is perceived in each person's mind differently.  Some feel old and some feel young at this age.  Age 50 can be fun and exciting, if you can exercise, try it at least once or twice a week.  Join good social clubs which you might be interested in and the ones who are nice to you.  Be more kinder and nicer to your spouse if you are not like that now.  Be more supportive and listen to other people problems more. If you are doing all of this, this hooray for you! This is what makes life worth living, and each year as we age, we sometimes need to find something to do for others that will help them along the way and make their lives more better.  Let's not just focus on just what we want all the time.  Make life happy for not only you but everyone you come in contact with, say or do something positive to help uplift their spirits and souls.  Age 50 is what's happening, it is a new beginning. Something of a resurrection, meaning we must live and live and share all of this knowledge which life and time has showned us.  So enjoy your fifties and be blessed.

I'm a little older than that and you've given me some ideas that I should be pursuing.

I must caution you about the 50s though. At that age, children who have lost their jobs may come home to roost. Women at that age tend to have problems with their emotions during menopause.

You also recommend early retirement. A former secretary of mine, after working 35 years had reached the requirement for retirement through our pension plan. She retired to have fun with her mother, who she had lived with all her life. A year after she retired, her mother died, hitting her hard. She tried to come back and work for the University like so many others had, but was unable to do so. She died last week at 57.
